Our Quartets

Our Quartets

A Barbershop Quartet is a harmony-rich ensemble of four singers, who blend their voices in a cappella style. They create a distinctive sound through melody and chord-ringing. Each member plays a unique role, from the lead singer to the bass, crafting melodious tunes.

The members of Boston Skyline Chorus have formed several quartets, and we are always happy to support a newly formed group. Quartets often perform at our shows with a special set of 2-3 songs. Some of them also choose to compete in a separate Quartet Competition at the annual SingUnited (formerly known as Sweet Adelines International) Regional Competition in Springfield, MA.

Bari'd Treasure

__alt__Bari'd Treasure first came together to sing as a quartet in March 2016. As the name suggests, Bari'd Treasure is a baritone-associated quartet, as three of the members have sung as baritones during their Sweet Adelines ventures, and the fourth member has a baritone personality. Singing together has become a highly valued and cherished experience for this quartet; hence, the name Bari'd Treasure evolved. All four of these barbershop enthusiasts have been members of the Boston Skyline Chorus (BSC) for several years.

  • Joyce Nishinaga (Tenor) has been a tenor with BSC since 2003 and is now happily retired from the state of MA, having worked as a web application software developer. Joyce is on the Music and Website Teams, and is the Tenor Section Leader for BSC.
  • Jill Connor (Lead) has been with BSC since 2012, switching from Baritone to Lead in 2018. Jill is a dedicated fifth grade public school teacher in Arlington. Jill is one of our Lead Section Leaders for BSC.
  • Lois Jensen (Baritone) is also happily retired from her role as a Project Manager for an area property insurance company. Lois has been a  Sweet Adeline since 1980 and a member of BSC since the year 2000. She has previously served as Team Leader and is the Baritone Section Leader for BSC.
  • Michele Bokun (Bass) recently left her role as an occupational therapist to become a Care Manager for Minuteman Senior Services. She has been a member of BSC since 2005, switching from Baritone to Bass in 2015. She is one of our Bass Section Leaders.

Wicked Harmony

__alt__

Wicked Harmony came together in July 2025. We share a passion for promoting hope and sisterhood through our music while having a lot of fun!

  • Linda LaSalle (Lead) is our most recent addition, having joined BSC in 2025, but she comes with an amazing array of musical knowledge. In fact, she sings for a living as a Board Certified Musical Therapist. She also plays in the New England Irish Harp Orchestra.
  • Janice Mottolo (Bass) joined the chorus in 2012 almost by accident. Not having sung in any organized way since high school, she was reluctant to join at first, but barbershop harmony quickly drew her in! She has held various positions throughout the years, including Visual Team Coordinator, Membership Chair, and Annual Show Chair.
  • Peg Deery (Baritone) is our veteran member, having joined the Liberty Belle Chorus (BSC's previous name) in 1998. Having sung in choral groups since high school, she went to an LBC concert and was instantly hooked! Since then, it’s been her goal to sing in a quartet, so now she can cross that off of her bucket list.
  • Risa Uchida Battis (Tenor) has a musical background that covers the gamut, having played various instruments and sung in a number of choirs, as well as a brief training stint in opera singing. In addition to BSC and Wicked Harmony, she is a member of Millennium Gospel Choir.

Orpheus

Orpheus was formed in July of 2026 from a group of relatively new members to the chorus. They each competed for the first time in the 2026 Regional Chorus Competition, and plan to enter the 2027 Regional Quartet Competition next. They look forward to their first public performance and are very excited to live up to their name.

  • Xaidie Campbell (Tenor) joined BSC as a Bari in 2025. Xaidie {text to come soon}. She currently serves as the Annual Show Committee Chair.
  • Tanya Crowell (Lead) joined BSC as a Bari just before the 2025 Regional Chorus Competition. She attended as our official cheerleader at that event, and it was immediately apparent that she had found her dream chorus. Her goal from the beginning was to form a quartet. Tanya currently serves on the Marketing and Branding Team, the Annual Show Committee, and the Costume Committee.
  • Mich Allen (Bari) Mich (pronounced like "wish") initially joined the chorus in 2025 as a Lead, then moved to the Bass section to help fill out the section for contest purposes, and never left it. Mich started her musical career at the age of 50, after finally singing karaoke for the first time ever. She now takes Voice, Piano, Songwriting, and Guitar Lessons at Groton Hill Music Center and performs in their Rock Choir, Cabaret and Voice Soirees, and in a band formed with three other members of that choir. She is a Singer/Songwriter and a budding Barbershop Arranger. Mich serves as BSC's Performance Coordinator and is a member of the Management Team, Website Team, and Marketing Team.
  • Amy Serr (Bass) joined BSC in 2025. She has been an important part of the Bass Section ever since. Amy...{text to come soon}.
