Become a Member

We are always looking for new members to join our chorus! If you love to sing, consider coming to a rehearsal to meet us and see what we are all about. We like to be sure that our guests are familiar and comfortable with the process of joining, so be sure to read about that process below.

Membership Process

We welcome you to attend an Open Rehearsal to meet us and learn a bit more about us.

1. Email [email protected] to let us know you are interested in joining us, and to schedule your first visit.
2. We will greet you upon arrival and introduce you to your new friends!
3. Our Director will take you aside and ask you to sing some specific vocal exercises for her, so that she can determine your vocal range and place you in one of the four sections; Bass (the lowest range), Baritone (mid-range), Lead (the main range), or Tenor (the highest range).
4. We will introduce you to some other members who sing your same part, as well as your Section Leader, who will assist you during rehearsals by standing behind you on the risers, so you can hear your part as well as following along with the sheet music we provide. You are welcome to sing along with us so you can feel the harmony of being part of our group.
5. We ask that you attend at least three rehearsals before auditioning.
6. You will be assigned to learn and memorize a specific song from our current repertoire. We will provide you with sheet music and a learning track so that you can practice at home, and your Section Leader will work with you at each rehearsal to help you feel confident as you are learning your part. 
7. An in-person audition will then take place before a rehearsal (on the night of your choice) in a quartet style. While our Director and your Section Leader listen, you will sing the assigned song with three other members, to ensure that you have learned the song correctly and have memorized the lyrics. If you don't pass on the first attempt, you can try again the following week. There is no pressure to pass on the first try. The lyrics, rhythm, and notes will need to be memorized, so we will understand if you need more time. 
8. Once you pass your audition, the chorus takes a vote and welcomes you to join us as an official member!

Financial Commitment

As a non-profit 501(c)3, we do require you to pay annual membership dues to assist with the our chorus' operating costs. The annual dues of $<AMOUNT> can be broken down into multiple payments as needed, and will not be due until you officially join the chorus as a member. You are welcome to attend for several weeks before deciding if you would like to pursue becoming a member.
